A New England Journal of Medicine Quick Take

NEJM-Provision of No-Cost, Long-Acting Contraception and Teenage Pregnancy

From the NEJM website: "Each year more than 700,000 teens in the United States become pregnant. If we could eliminate some of the barriers to teens having access to contraception, would the pregnancy rates fall?

The latest NEJM Quick Take, a brief animation narrated by Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Drazen, summarizes new findings from a prospective cohort study in which teens were provided free contraception and educated about reversible methods. These teens had low rates of pregnancy, birth, and abortion, as compared with national rates for sexually experienced teens."
